2. Self Honesty 3. Self Responsibility 4. Love |

As Gwyddons, we must all be constantly aware of how we are applying W. S. S. L. in our lives. Looking at the terms for each of the individual keys, we have Wisdom - Ah, wisdom. This is one of the forces that drive many of us, once we have overcome out petty desires for power. By the way, how many of us remember: You do not get or gain power - You are Power! All things may be accomplished by remembering who you really are. As a short and final note on Wisdom: Wisdom is not dependent on intellect. One may be quite wise and never have achieved any of the higher levels of education. Wisdom may be gained by anyone who will apply the other three keys in their lives.
Self-Honesty is the second of the four Great Keys. This is, quite simply, backing up and taking an honest and hard look at our actions and the situations that we have or will become involved in. Be honest with yourself even if you decide against being honest with those around you, for whatever reasons. This can be difficult to do, but if one is honest with oneself, the other three Great Keys will begin to work and integrate themselves into one's life quite naturally. Self-Responsibility is the third Great Key. Being responsible for oneself will cause one to take a hard look at one's actions before "jumping the gun" and creating a situation that may have unpleasant results. Everything that happens to one is a direct or an indirect consequence of an action or inaction allowed to happen. Sometimes the results of action or inaction can be pleasant and at other times quite nasty. If one becomes Self-Responsible, the consequences of the Patterns that one lays down or initiates will become clear before the Pattern is initiated. By applying these three Great Keys, one is ready to learn about Love. Love is the fourth and final Great Key. No, we're not talking about love as most people know it. Love is referring to the higher metaphysical forms. This is not the same as "being in lust," which is what most people refer to as love (although a deep affection can grow between two people when they are "in lust" with each other for a period of time). Love is not the same as being "in love." "In love" is the same thing as gonadism, or in simper terms, the mating urge. This may be compared to what most animals go through when they are "in heat." The only difference is that we, as human beings with a higher intellect than animals (sometimes I wonder about this), have romanticized and intellectualized the process. When one is "in love," this person becomes slightly crazy, out of touch with reality, and incapable of making rational decisions. So, being "in love" is not the kind of Love that is being discussed here. Love happens when one truly understands and realizes that THERE IS ONLY ONE BEING IN EXISTENCE AND THAT IS THE BOUNDLESS AND YOU ARE THAT! When one truly realizes this Great Truth, then one will begin to understand Love. In conclusion, the four Great Keys are the framework which we, as Gwyddons, must base our lives on. If one applies the four Great Keys with diligence, then one is well on their way to truly understanding what it means to be a Celtic Gwyddonic Druid and the true workings of magick. In the next treatise, I will tell you of the Anti-thesis of the four Great Keys. This is known as FoSSeL -- The Four Great Locks. As a puzzle, see if you can figure out what the acronym "FoSSeL" means and stands for. Until next time:
