A Penny For Your Thoughts

How much do you think you're worth? This concept of "worth" is very much a part of our society's system of values: personal worth.

If you happen to know anything at all about the Concept of Oneness you would understand that we are all Aspects of the Boundless, and that no one is more of the Boundless than anyone else. In fact, every Manifested thing is a "pure" expression of THAT. Though some of the world's religions teach that one must perform some special task to become closer to the Boundless. The truth of the situation is that everything is already the ONE and that notheing anyone can do will be able to make them more or less THAT.

So, even there are those who may wish you to believe that they are more "holy" than you: it's not so! However, you will remember that I said "personal worth". There're many ways to look at that idea. Well, such as: money, fame, power, and position. When an average human looks at themselves in these terms, and most of us do, then we really don't seem to have very much personal worth. Our only consolation is to remember that we are the Boundless. But that doesn't do much for the human ego, does it? We're out there every day rubbing elbows with all those people who have so much more personal worth, and frankly, we just can't compete. Now ain't that tough?!

If you think that's sad, then let me add to your woes! Let me ask you this question: If you died today, how many people would miss you, or even cry a little for you? Suppose we imagine a value system that places a value on a person that depends on how many people would weep if you died. A numerical system that gave a whole number for each person who cared: such as a 12+ if twelve people should miss you when you died. How many of us would have 50+? Really?!

But here is another side of it. How many people would be glad about your passing? Now that could be set up in a negative value. If ten persons would laugh at hearing that you were dead, then your value would be 10-!

Oh, sure, it could be a ratheer complicated thing. One could have 23+ and a 19- and 43 who just didn't give a damn one way or another what happened to you. To get a high positive value one would have to do their best to please everyone they knew. Can you do it? No way!

What does one do about this dilemma of "worth"? If you will hark back to the Concept of Oneness and the fact that we are all equal Aspects of the Boundless, and that no one is, or could ever be, more of the ONE than anyone else---what do we really learn from that? If we are equally THAT, Then, lets look at this carefully; there is no value. Therefore, we are equally worthless! Now, if that statement bothered you, you don't really understand the Concept of the Boundless, do you? Does that make me better than you?   HAH!!!
