The Ritual Of The Full Moon

The diameter of The Moon Circle is determined; and its proper position. The Four Gates may be represented by appropriate objects, such as: Crystals, Candles, or God and Goddess objects. The High Priest then "cuts" The Moon Circle with his Twen. It is proper to use the Hudlath for this purpose at certain times.

The High Priestess, or another chosen member, brings the Elements through the East Gate, which the High Priest opens for them. The High Priest goes to the North Gate, and taking the Element of Earth*, he sprinkles the Earth three times in a northward direction, raises his Twen upwards and out in salutation, and then he chants in a slow, powerful, and deliberate voice:

"OH GREAT AND MIGHTY ONE!    RULER OF THE NORTH MARCH!
COME!    I PRAY YOU!    PROTECT THE GATE OF THE NORTH WARD.
COME!    I SUMMON YOU!"

The High Priest then goes clockwise to the East Gate, and, taking the Element of Air*, he waves it in an eastward direction three times, raises his Twen upwards and out in salutation, and then he chants in a slow, powerful, and deliberate voice:

"OH GREAT AND MIGHTY ONE!    RULER OF THE EAST MARCH!
COME!    I PRAY YOU!    PROTECT THE GATE OF THE EAST WARD.
COME!    I SUMMON YOU!"

"OH GREAT AND MIGHTY ONE!    RULER OF THE SOUTH MARCH!
COME!    I PRAY YOU!    PROTECT THE GATE OF THE SOUTH WARD.
COME!    I SUMMON YOU!"

The High Priest then goes clockwise to the West Gate, and taking the Element of Water*, he sprinkles it westward three times, raises his Twen upwards and out in salutation, and then he chants in a slow, powerful, and deliberate voice:

"OH GREAT AND MIGHTY ONE!    RULER OF THE WEST MARCH!
COME!    I PRAY YOU!    PROTECT THE GATE OF THE WEST WARD.
COME!    I SUMMON YOU!"

The elements are then removed and returned to the Altar. The High Priest opens the East Gate and all of the members enter The Moon Circle. The High Priest then closes the doorway that he opened in The Moon Circle. The members of the college then choose what works that they will do and the procedures, Patrons and Patronesses who will sponsor the works, chants, and Pattern Creating. The High Priest and High Priestess lead them in their chanting and Pattern Creating. After the Works are done, the High Priest then removes The Moon Circle and dismisses the Wards if no one else has a use for The Moon Circle.

     * The Element of Earth is usually a bowl of sea salt with some spices mixed in. The Element of Air is the incense burner with burning incense. The Element of Fire is the Fire Candle and the Element of Water is the Water in the Water Dish.

Note - When addressing the Elementals at the Wards, remember: You are asking, not commanding. Be respectful.
