FoSSeL

THE FOUR GREAT LOCKS

(The Antithesis of W. S. S. L.)

1. Folly
2. Self-Indulgence
3. Self-Struggle
4. Loathe

As Gwyddons, we must all be constantly aware of how we are applying W.S.S.L. in our lives. Prior to your becoming a Gwyddon, what were you doing? Had you even ever heard of WeSSeL? Indeed, had any of you ever heard of Gwyddons?

Before you become a Gwyddon, you were, and no doubt still may be to some extent, a conditioned being. You come into life completely unconditioned and you spend your next formative years of your life becoming a conditioned member of your culture and society. And lo and behold, you encounter the virus of the Gwyddonic Teachings and become infected with the concept that you are One Boundless Being. But what are the obstacles to this?

It is what we call the Four Great Locks: Folly, Self-Indulgence, Self-Struggle, and Loathe. Only the Four Great Keys of WeSSeL can open the deadly locks of FoSSeL. Imagine this: you are an innocent being, locked away in a prison that no one sees as being a prison. In fact, you've spent all of your formative years learning to adjust and adapt to that prison. This prison is your conditioned life. Now, the question is: how do these Four Great Locks of FoSSeL keep you imprisoned? This will be the focus of this article.

The first of these Four Great Locks is FOLLY. In the Tarot deck, there is a card that is called The Fool. On its highest level, it is equated with the concept of Wisdom (which is the first concept of WeSSeL), but in its lower level, it represents one who moves through life without really ever seeing where they're going. The conditioning of one's life creates blinders that do not permit a wide and true perception; that you and "deity" are two separate and irreconcilable entities, and never shall the twain meet: this is Folly!

If you have the concept that you are better than anyone else, or that anyone else is better than you are, by reason or genetics, social standing, cultural background, racial heritage, etc., then this is Folly! If you are under the impression that there is more than ONE BEING in existence, this too, is Folly! Another example: did you ever look in a mirror and say, "Who am I?" and think that the answer lay within whether you called yourself a Gwyddon or not? Then, this is pure Folly, because the answer does not lie within a name but within the Wisdom of knowing your Self of selves.

If you think that life owes you a living, then this is Self-Indulgence. If you think life chose you for great things, well, this is Self-Indulgence. If you, as a concerned citizen (Ha! Ha!), feel that you know how those disgusting people down the street should live, and you are determined to make them do so, Hey! Is this Self-Indulgence? If you, self centeredly and self-indulgently, take your sexual pleasure with your partner and leave them hanging without their culmination of pleasure -- what does this exemplify?

You think you're important. No, you think you're not important: two sides to the same coin - - self!!! Which are you? Let's argue about it. Daddy always said you were the apple of his eye. Aunt Agnes always said you were the black sheep of the family. Of course, it's clear to you, isn't it? That the universe revolves around you -- no, no one cares about you: no one takes your feelings into consideration. You're a king/queen. You're a worm. You're wise. You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. There! This is a fine example of Self-Struggle -- you pitted against yourself. If you win, you always lose.

For the fourth and final Great Lock, we will discuss Loathe. The conditioning of one's life, and the negative results of that conditioning, can result in an abhorrence and detestation of oneself and others. Anger, bitterness, comparisons, aggressiveness, fearfulness, and ignorance, become one's daily diet. To what extent does this occur in your life? "Not mine!" you say. "I'm not prejudiced. I've got an open mind!" You say. Then, can you piss on a Methodist church with impunity? You can?! Then you're worse off than I thought you were, because you gave importance to this whole silly idea! Now, aren't you pissed with yourself? You say you're pissed at me for bringing this up? Well, that kind of sounds like the condition of Loathe" to me. Hmmm.......Could this be one of those Four Great Locks rearing its ugly head in your life? This lock, Loathe, has you in its grip if you can't look at yourself and treasure everything that you see regardless of how it came to be there. Acceptance means Love. And so it is, that it is the Great Key, Love, that unlocks the imprisonment of Loathe.

So here we are: Four Great Locks on the door of our conditioned prison, and Four Great Keys that will cause those locks to fall away. Only you can turn the keys which will set you free from your conditioned prison. But here is the greater mystery: Those Four Great Keys are but one thing -- the true knowledge (and the Wisdom that goes with it) of who you really are: YOU ARE THAT BOUNDLESS BEING!!!

This key opens that Gateless Gate
Entering here,
You meet your Self of selves,
Now dance your eternal Dance!

With Bright Blessings,
