For those of you that want a map to point you in the "right" direction, okay, here's good news: there are at least three different "maps" that I know about. There is the "Lay of the High One" from the Elder Edda, the Zen "Ox-herd Pictures", and the Kabbalistic "Tree of Life." In very distinct and different way these three great tools point out the direction of the Path of the Great Adventure. They say exactly the very same thing: the Path through the Gateless Gate leads through the Confrontation of the self with the SELF.
There are four keys that you must carry to progress on the Path, and those are: Wisdom, Self-honesty, Self-responsibility, and Love. Self-honesty will be your sword, on the Adventure, that will cut through every knot. It can slay every connotation. It can light with great brightness every Dark Place. Self-Responsibility will be your shield. You will be protected from every phobia, and the rationalization loop will be broken by "doing, or not doing." Effort will be made rather than "trying to." And as you progress on the Path, Wisdom will accumulate and every riddle that is put to you will be solved. With Love you will learn how to communicate with all creatures, whether human of others. Every woman or man who sets out on this Adventure is a Hero. Many great tasks, and great feats of power will be required of you. At times, you will be required to put on a "guise" of some special nature, such as: shaman, healer, priest, warrior, shape-changer, witch, lover, etc., etc. But you know that you are THAT, AND THAT, and therefore, you have the potential of becoming whatever you must. A Mystery of who you are is in the Great Dark Pool which is called The Abyss. Fear not! Dive in! All that you're going to find is your SELF!!! !!! !!! |
